“His life ended. Now, a new one will begin.”

Holly (Hilary Swank) wants her life to feel whole again after her husband Gerry (Gerard Butler) dies. Before he is gone, he arranges for letters to reach her at intervals, each one nudging her toward a place or a person or a choice she has been too afraid to make. As the messages arrive, Holly begins to move, and the city around her, the streets, the bars, the faces of friends, slowly comes back into focus.
