Pacific Heights

In San Francisco's Pacific Heights, Drake Goodman (Matthew Modine) and Patty Palmer (Melanie Griffith) buy a run-down Victorian and take on more work than they can afford to restore it. They decide to rent out the apartments to cover the bills, and one tenant, Carter Hayes (Michael Keaton), arrives with a smile and a story. John Schlesinger keeps the camera inside the house, so the walls feel closer with every scene.
