Pacific Rim

“To fight monsters, we created monsters.”

A portal has opened at the bottom of the Pacific Ocean, and what climbs out of it is a colossal sea monster, the first of many. To fight them, humanity builds giant robots that need two pilots sharing one mind. Stacker Pentecost (Idris Elba) turns to a washed-up pilot, Raleigh Becket (Charlie Hunnam), and a rookie, Mako Mori (Rinko Kikuchi). Guillermo del Toro builds the fights on a scale where the machines, the water and the monsters all feel enormous and heavy.
