“Their American dream is bigger than yours.”

Daniel Lugo (Mark Wahlberg), manager of the Sun Gym in 1990s Miami, decides extortion is the only road to his version of the American dream, and he brings in two musclemen, Paul Doyle (Dwayne Johnson) and Adrian Doorbal (Anthony Mackie). They grab the wealthy businessman Victor Kershaw (Tony Shalhoub). Michael Bay shoots it all in Miami sunshine, with the gym, the pool decks and the oiled-up bodies at the center of the frame.
