“Stake Your Claim To The Musical Goldmine of '69!”

In the California gold country, a Michigan farmer, Ben Rumson (Lee Marvin), and a young prospector, "Pardner" (Clint Eastwood), go into partnership and turn their mining camp into a boom town. They buy a wife, Elizabeth Woodling (Jean Seberg), and share her, and the drinking, gambling and singing never let up. Joshua Logan stages the musical numbers as loud, crowded camp-meeting songs and keeps the gold fields as the backdrop.
