“The Life of Painter Jang Seung-up.”

Where does a man's talent come from when he can hardly say why he has it? Jang Seung-eop (Choi Min-sik) drinks and paints through the days of nineteenth-century Korea, known to everyone by the name Chihwaseon, and a woman, Mae-hyang (Yoo Ho-jeong), shows him what fate means and how to see art in the smallest things. Im Kwon-taek stays close on the painter's hands and the brush, and he lets the pictures speak.
