Pakeezah

Sahibjaan (Meena Kumari) is a tawaif in Lucknow, a courtesan who cannot find a way out of the life she was born into. A stranger's note, left while she sleeps on a train, praises her beauty, and she later learns it came from Salim (Raaj Kumar), a forest ranger. Kamal Amrohi holds her in the hush of the tent where she shelters from the broken boat, the note still with her.
