“From Your Pal, Columbia!”

Joey Evans (Frank Sinatra) is a nightclub singer with a good voice, a quick line for every woman in the room, and no money to speak of. He sets his sights on Vera Simpson (Rita Hayworth), a wealthy widow, convinced she can pay for the club of his own that he wants. George Sidney fills the picture with songs and big sets, and Joey keeps charming, sure that the next smile will get him what he's after.
