“They are more than friends, they are...”

In the slums of Madrid, José (José Luis Manzano) is eighteen, out of work, and crowded into a small apartment with a family that has no room to spare. He spends his days with his friend Antonio (Antonio Flores), until his girlfriend Rosario (Rosario Flores) becomes pregnant. Eloy de la Iglesia follows the two friends as they scramble for the money Rosario needs to end the pregnancy, with no one to ask and no job to fall back on.
