Pandora and the Flying Dutchman

In 1951, a Spanish seaside town is home to Pandora Reynolds (Ava Gardner), a woman who has never been in love, though men there kill and die for her. Then Hendrick van der Zee (James Mason), a ship's captain with an air of mystery about him, arrives and urges her toward the ultimate act of love. Albert Lewin builds the film on the legend of the Flying Dutchman, and Mason's captain stands there looking at her, the sea behind him.
