Panfilov's 28 Men
In November 1941, a column of fifty-four German tanks is rolling toward Moscow, and the only thing between it and the city is a single company of twenty-eight Red Army soldiers with light weapons. Kim Druzhinin and Andrey Shalyopa follow them through the days before the tanks arrive. What holds the film together is how these men, of different backgrounds and from far-off places, come to depend on one another.
