Anna Madden (Charlotte Burke) is a lonely, bored girl who draws a house in her school composition book and finds she can walk into it when she sleeps. Inside the drawing she meets Marc (Elliott Spiers), an ill boy she has only heard of in the waking world, and she starts adding to the picture to keep him company. Bernard Rose follows her back and forth, and Anna keeps drawing, trusting that a pencil can mend what loneliness has left her.
