Papillon

“The greatest adventure of escape!”

Henri "Papillon" Charriere (Steve McQueen) carries a butterfly tattoo, and a murder conviction he insists he never earned. Shipped to a penal island, he befriends the forger Louis Dega (Dustin Hoffman), a nervous man with money sewn into his body who needs protection. Franklin J. Schaffner puts both men in a place built to hold them, and Papillon starts planning how to get out.
