Paradise

“It would take a miracle to save their love... and that's just what they got.”

Willard Young (Elijah Wood) is ten years old and sent to spend a summer in the country with Lily (Melanie Griffith) and Ben Reed (Don Johnson), a couple with no children of their own. Mary Agnes Donoghue, adapting a French film, puts him in the house beside Billie Pike (Thora Birch), a girl who knows far more than her age should allow. The summer shows how a child learns what grown-ups carry around, the grief and the quiet each of them keeps to themselves.
