Paris Belongs to Us

Anne Goupil (Betty Schneider) joins a theatrical troupe in Paris and starts asking questions nobody in the company wants to answer. She comes to believe that its director, Gerard Lenz (Giani Esposito), is tied to a secret group and that his life is in grave danger. Jacques Rivette, in his first feature, lets the rehearsals and the talk wander until the unease feels like it belongs to the whole city.
