Paris Blues

(1961)Directed by Martin Ritt98 minRomance, Drama, Music
“A love-spectacular so personally exciting, you feel it's happening to you!”

Ram Bowen (Paul Newman) plays trombone in a Paris jazz club, an American who has settled into the city and the nights that go with it. His friend Eddie Cook (Sidney Poitier) plays saxophone beside him, and when two American tourists, Lillian (Joanne Woodward) and Connie (Diahann Carroll), come through on vacation, each man has to weigh the music against them. Martin Ritt ends on the club itself, the horns still waiting.
