Paris, Texas

“A place for dreams. A place for heartbreak. A place to pick up the pieces.”

Travis (Harry Dean Stanton) walks out of the Texas desert in a dusty suit, unable to speak, wanting only to keep moving. His brother Walt (Dean Stockwell) comes to take him home and finds a man who has been gone four years and has left his wife and young son behind. Wim Wenders lets the silence run long, and the film becomes about what a family owes the person who vanished from it.
