Passion Fish

“Have you ever dreamed of escaping to a place where you can begin again?”

A car accident leaves the soap opera star May-Alice Culhane (Mary McDonnell) paralyzed, and she goes back to her family home, drinking and angry, running off one nurse after another. Then Chantelle (Alfre Woodard) arrives with troubles of her own and says she is staying. John Sayles keeps the two women in that house, May-Alice in her chair with a glass in reach, Chantelle standing over her.
