“The journey of survival”

Pallikkal Narayanan (Mammootty) boards a dhow bound for the Middle East, one of the first young men from his Kerala village to leave in search of work, and he takes his family's hopes with him. Salim Ahamed follows him through the decades of labor abroad that come after, with the money he sends home and the visits he can only make now and then. Nalini (Jewel Mary) stays behind, and their marriage is carried by letters and long absences.
