Paulie

“The bird is the word”

Paulie is a talking parrot with a long memory and a bad habit of ignoring orders, and the only thing he wants is to get back to the girl who first owned him. He tells his whole story to Misha Vilyenkov (Tony Shalhoub), a Russian janitor who sweeps the basement where Paulie ends up and who is willing to listen. John Roberts lets the telling carry the film, and Misha, a lonely man with nobody else to talk to, starts helping the bird find his way home.
