Pauline at the Beach
“Romance, wit, seduction and the foolishness of love”
Pauline (Amanda Langlet) is fifteen, and she spends a summer holiday in Granville watching the adults around her talk about love far better than they practice it. Her cousin Marion (Arielle Dombasle), newly separated from her husband, runs into an old flame on the beach. Éric Rohmer lets the talk spill across the sand and the rented house, while Pauline, a little apart and mostly listening, begins to form views of her own.
