Pearl Harbor

“It takes a moment to change history. It takes love to change lives.”

Two fighter pilots, Rafe McCawley (Ben Affleck) and Danny Walker (Josh Hartnett), compete for the attention of a nurse, Evelyn Johnson (Kate Beckinsale), in Hawaii before December 7th, 1941. The film cuts between their triangle and the machinery of war grinding toward them. Bay orchestrates the attack itself with the scale and momentum of a machine, the camera finding beauty and wreckage in the same frame.
