Perceval
In the Arthurian world of Chrétien de Troyes' twelfth-century romance, a young Welshman named Perceval (Fabrice Luchini) rides out to become a knight at the Round Table. Éric Rohmer stages the whole story on a stylized studio set, with painted castles and singers who narrate in verse. Beside Perceval stands Gauvain (André Dussollier), the older knight whose road keeps crossing his own.
