“John Travolta and Jamie Lee Curtis work up a sweat together!”

Adam Lawrence (John Travolta), a Rolling Stone reporter, follows one assignment into a second and ends up at a Los Angeles health club, notebook out, writing about the single people who go there to work out and meet each other. Jessie Wilson (Jamie Lee Curtis) teaches the aerobics class and has little trust in journalists. James Bridges sets their attraction against the story Adam is writing, and whatever she says to him may end up in print.
