Perfume: The Story of a Murderer
“Obsession can cause the unthinkable.”
In 18th-century France, Jean-Baptiste Grenouille (Ben Whishaw) possesses an extraordinary sense of smell but no scent of his own. He becomes apprentice to perfumer Giuseppe Baldini (Dustin Hoffman), obsessed with capturing the fragrance of a young woman named Laura (Rachel Hurd-Wood). Grenouille's hunger to possess what he cannot create grows darker with each failure, and his gifts become a kind of curse.
