Perfume: The Story of a Murderer

“Obsession can cause the unthinkable.”

Jean-Baptiste Grenouille (Ben Whishaw) is born in the stench of eighteenth-century Paris with a sense of smell sharper than anyone's, and he uses it to pick out the scent of a whole city. Tom Tykwer follows him as his work in perfume takes a dark turn, with Giuseppe Baldini (Dustin Hoffman) among the few who see what he can do. Grenouille wants to preserve scents, and he keeps searching for the one he cannot let go.
