“The future lies in kinky people”

In 1980s suburban London, Christine Painter (Julie Walters) waits tables, raises a son, and still can't make the rent. Her way out is a house of her own, where lonely older men pay for a very particular kind of attention, and Terry Jones keeps the parlor as ordinary as a church hall tea. Christine and her friend Shirley (Shirley Stelfox) are betting everything on a business the law is not prepared to ignore.
