Persuasion

The Elliots can no longer afford their mansion, so Sir Walter (Anthony Stewart Head) lets it to a rear admiral and his wife, who happen to be the sister and brother-in-law of Captain Wentworth (Rupert Penry-Jones). Anne Elliot (Sally Hawkins) is 27 and unmarried, eight years past turning down Wentworth's proposal. Adrian Shergold follows Anne as the man she refused returns, rich from the war and in no hurry to forgive her.
