Pete Kelly's Blues
“A jazz-man of the wide-open '20s - caught in the crossfire of its blazing .38s!”
Pete Kelly (Jack Webb) wants to keep his small jazz band working, and in 1927 Kansas City that means playing his cornet every night at a seedy speakeasy. The racketeer Fran McCarg (Edmond O'Brien) offers protection in return for a cut, and Pete has to decide what the band owes him. Jack Webb directs and stars, leaving Pete in the smoky back room, cornet in hand.
