Phantom

Lorenz Lubota (Alfred Abel), a city clerk with no direction in his life, is knocked down on his way to work by a woman driving a chariot, and he cannot stop thinking about her afterward. F. W. Murnau follows his fixation as it pulls him toward Veronika Harlan (Lya De Putti) and away from Marie Starke (Lil Dagover). Between the woman he chases and the one close by lies a longing he can't put down.
