Phantom of the Paradise

(1974)Directed by Brian De Palma92 min · PGDrama, Horror, Music
“He sold his soul for rock n’ roll!”

Winslow Leach (William Finley) hands his rock cantata to the producer Swan (Paul Williams), who keeps the music, sends Winslow away, and plans to open his new palace, the Paradise, with it. Brian De Palma stages the film as a rock musical horror comedy, and Winslow's favorite singer, Phoenix (Jessica Harper), is swept into Swan's plans too. Winslow, once a quiet songwriter with one thing to say, now wants only to get back what was taken from him.
