In a Canadian clinic around 1980, Dr. Peter Ross (Paul Michael Glaser) treats patients who cannot leave their rooms, cross a bridge or face a crowd, using a radical new therapy of his own. Then they begin to die, each killed according to the fear they came to him to lose, and John Huston puts the police on his doorstep. Inspector Barnes (John Colicos) circles Ross, and Jenny St Clair (Susan Hogan) must decide how far to trust him.
