Piccadilly

(1929)Directed by E.A. Dupont109 minDrama, Crime

A dancer is caught on the club floor in a silent row with the club's owner, and that argument sends Shosho (Anna May Wong), a young Chinese woman working in the kitchen, up the stairs and into the spotlight. E.A. Dupont shot the 1929 drama on location in London, with Gilda Gray as Mabel Greenfield and Jameson Thomas as Valentine Wilmot. Under the dance-hall glamour, the film is about who gets a place in a nightclub and who stays out of sight.
