Pickup on South Street
“How the law took a chance on a B-girl … and won!”
In 1953 New York, Skip McCoy (Richard Widmark) lifts wallets on the subway and thinks nothing of it. One afternoon he takes Candy's (Jean Peters) purse, and the microfilm inside draws in the FBI, her ex-boyfriend Joey (Richard Kiley), and the foreign agents he works for. Samuel Fuller keeps Skip's shack by the river, a few hard faces crowded into its low, narrow room.
