Pieces of a Woman

Martha Weiss (Vanessa Kirby) goes into labor at home, expecting to bring a daughter into the house she shares with her partner Sean (Shia LaBeouf). The birth ends in a loss that leaves her with a year to get through, while her mother Elizabeth (Ellen Burstyn) and the rest of her family close in around her. Kornél Mundruczó keeps the camera near Martha's face and lets her grief set the pace.
