Pierrot le Fou

(1965)Directed by Jean-Luc Godard110 minDrama, Romance, Crime
“You've met the tame Godard, the love Godard, the think Godard, ...now meet the wild Godard!”

Ferdinand Griffon (Jean-Paul Belmondo) is married and bored, stuck in a Paris life he can't stand, and he wants out of all of it. The way out is Marianne (Anna Karina), a young woman chased by hitmen from Algeria, and the two of them leave for the Mediterranean in a string of borrowed cars. Jean-Luc Godard sends them down the coast, and it is the two of them, with all the quarreling and tenderness between them, that he keeps in view.
