“The truth of the heart is born only from sacrifice.”

Gang-do (Lee Jung-jin) collects debts for a loan shark, and he does it with violence, maiming men who cannot pay. Then a middle-aged woman (Cho Min-soo) starts following him and says she is the mother who abandoned him as a child. Kim Ki-duk puts the two in a slow, wary push and pull, a son who has never been held and a woman who will not leave his side.
