Lyn (Joanna Scanlan) and her teenage daughter Iona (Lily Newmark) move to a new town, where the two of them, close enough to call each other Dafty One and Dafty Two, mean to start over. Deborah Haywood's film follows Iona as she falls in with three girls at school, while Lyn, used to being her daughter's best friend, makes do with her neighbour Belinda (Chanel Cresswell). Lyn is the one left waiting at home, and she wants her girl back.
