“There's something in the water.”

Sheriff Julie Forester (Elisabeth Shue) wants one quiet Spring Break on Lake Victoria, Arizona, where the town swells from 5,000 people to 50,000 every year. An earthquake splits the lakebed and lets loose a swarm of ancient piranha, just as Jerry O'Connell's Derrick Jones arrives to film the crowds. Alexandre Aja shoots it in 3D, and the sun-bright water is packed with swimmers, boats and bodies.
