Pit Stop

“Raw guts for glory! Flesh against steel!”

In 1969, the figure-eight stock car circuit is a tangle of dirt, noise and crossing paths, and Rick Bowman (Richard Davalos) is a drag-racing street punk bailed out of jail by a businessman, Grant Willard (Brian Donlevy). Willard offers him a sponsorship, and Rick climbs the ranks while his friends matter less and less to him. The last thing we see is the track itself, two lanes of cars crossing at the middle of the figure eight.
