“You never know what's about to change...”

Laura Barlow (Natalie Portman) and her younger sister Kate (Lily-Rose Depp) earn their living in 1930s France as spirit mediums, performing séances for paying audiences. In Paris they meet André Korben (Emmanuel Salinger), a film producer who wants to put what they do in front of a camera. Rebecca Zlotowski sets the sisters' livelihood, and the bond holding them together, against his ambition.
