Platoon

“The first casualty of war is innocence.”

Chris Taylor (Charlie Sheen) drops out of college and volunteers for Vietnam, and what he finds in the field is not the war he pictured. His platoon is split between two sergeants: Barnes (Tom Berenger), who runs his men hard, and Elias (Willem Dafoe), who argues for restraint. Oliver Stone draws on his own tour, and Chris, a green recruit, watches both men and slowly learns which of them he is becoming.
