Play It Again, Sam

(1972)Directed by Herbert Ross85 min · PGComedy, Romance
“By day he is Woody Allen. But when night falls and the moon rises, Humphrey Bogart strikes again.”

Allan Felix (Woody Allen), a film critic who has watched Casablanca too many times, keeps seeing Humphrey Bogart (Jerry Lacy) in his apartment, handing out advice on how to talk to women. His wife has left, and his friends Dick (Tony Roberts) and Linda Christie (Diane Keaton) set him up on dates that go badly. Herbert Ross directs this, and between Allan and Linda there grows an easy, nervous closeness that neither of them knows what to do with.
