“Joining this deadly underworld was easy. But getting out... deadly!”

In 1997 Los Angeles, Dr. Eugene Sands (David Duchovny) has lost his medical license after an operation he performed high on amphetamines. Raymond Blossom (Timothy Hutton), a counterfeiter, hires him to patch up gunshot wounds his men can't take to a hospital. Andy Wilson follows Eugene into that world, where he gets close to Blossom's girlfriend Claire (Angelina Jolie) and has to decide how much of himself he will trade for the work.
