Plaza Suite

Karen Nash (Maureen Stapleton) checks into the same suite at New York's Plaza Hotel where she and her husband Sam (Walter Matthau) once honeymooned, hoping to win back his attention. Arthur Hiller films Neil Simon's play as three separate visits to that one room, with Matthau returning as a producer chasing an old flame and a father coaxing his daughter out of a bathroom. Each time the door opens and shuts, the suite looks the same and the people in it do not.
