Pleasantville

“Nothing is as simple as black and white.”

A remote control and a rerun send David (Tobey Maguire) and his sister Jennifer (Reese Witherspoon) into "Pleasantville," a 1950s sitcom where every street is dry and every family sits down to breakfast. Gary Ross puts them in the Parker house with George (William H. Macy) and Betty (Joan Allen), who smile through a world in black and white. Then Jennifer's modern attitude disrupts the town's routine, and one pink flower opens against the gray.
