Pleasures of the Flesh

In 1965 Japan, Atsushi Wakizaka (Katsuo Nakamura) has just killed a man, and a blackmailer leaves him holding a suitcase of embezzled money he has no right to touch. The cash pulls him toward the women in his life, Shoko (Mariko Kaga) among them, and toward spending he cannot take back. Nagisa Ōshima frames the excess in saturated colour, so the money looks as loud as the mistakes.
