“An erotically charged descent into madness.”

Pierre (Guillaume Depardieu), a young novelist, wants out of the comfortable, upper-class life his mother Marie (Catherine Deneuve) has arranged for him. Then Isabelle (Yekaterina Golubeva) appears and tells him she is his lost sister, and he leaves with her and two of her friends. Leos Carax loosely adapts Herman Melville's novel, and Pierre trades his name, his money and his certainty for a woman he cannot prove he knows.
