Police Academy

“The new police recruits. Call them slobs. Call them jerks. Call them gross. Just don't call them when you're in trouble.”

A new policy in an unnamed city throws the police academy open to anyone who wants in, and the doors fill with recruits of every size and level of brains. Carey Mahoney (Steve Guttenberg) is there only because the alternative is jail, which puts him in the sights of the boorish Lieutenant Harris (G.W. Bailey). Hugh Wilson turns the rest into a standoff between the two of them, one who has decided he likes the job and one who wants him gone.
