Ponette

Ponette (Victoire Thivisol), four years old, comes out of the car accident that killed her mother with a broken arm and one fixed hope, that her mother will come back for her. Jacques Doillon leaves her with her aunt and her cousins, where adults offer religious explanations she cannot make sense of, and children at school taunt her. If the waiting ever stops, she has no one else left to wait for.
