Pool of London

“A drama of the river underworld”

In post-war London, a cargo ship docks in the Thames and its crew goes ashore. Dan MacDonald (Bonar Colleano), an American sailor, is drawn into a jewel-theft scheme, while his shipmate Johnny Lambert (Earl Cameron) finds a connection with a local woman, a first for British cinema. Basil Dearden stages the whole story among the wharves and cranes of the working docks.
